Whiskey is part of Ireland’s heritage, from the distinctively smooth Silkie Whiskey distilled at Sliabh Liag Distillery at Ardara, Donegal, to the many unique blends produced across the country
The tasting session lasts an hour, and during this time you will learn about the distillation process, ageing, barrels and be given the opportunity to taste a number of different whiskeys. The session is a good introduction to Irish whiskey for beginners, and a fun reminder for those more experienced drinkers. If you want to learn more about the process of making whiskey, then Sliabh Liag distilleries both offer excellent tours at their facilities, which can be booked direct or via hotel reception.
