OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

We are dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings and reducing our environmental footprint. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have implemented initiatives across four key areas:

ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Our green team have conducted thorough energy audits to identify areas for improvement. By investing in energy-efficient technologies such as LED lighting and programmable thermostats, we have significantly reduced our electricity consumption - by 18.6% from 2019-2023.

Our commitment to renewable energy sources includes the installation of electrical heating system for our new bedrooms, further reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy sources. Existing suites have had gas fires removed and replaced with electrical stoves. Use of biomass burner rather than fossil fuel ads a carbon neutral method for heating the existing building.

WATER CONSUMPTION

Continuous water audits conducted by our team where we continue to identify opportunities to minimize water waste. This has included water-efficient fixtures and recycling systems, ensuring responsible water usage throughout property. 

SUPPORTING BIODIVERSITY

We have created wildlife habitats by preserving natural areas surround the Castle. Our commitment to sustainable land management practices minimizes habitat destruction and promotes the health of local ecosystems. Beehives have been installed in the forest adding to the pollinator population on the estate. Wildflower gardens have also been added all around the Castle adding not only to biodiversity but also adding beautiful flower displays.

PREVENTING WASTE

Waste reduction is one of our key focuses, and we continuously evaluate our processes to minimize waste generation.  Waste food bins in the kitchen are reviewed and measured for control along with cross utilization of products in all outlets.

Our comprehensive recycling program ensures that materials such as paper, plastics, glass, and metal are recycled responsibly. We actively encourage the use of reusable items and sustainable packaging practices throughout our operations. Water filtration systems have been added to the food and beverage outlets removing the need for purchasing bottled water.
