The Donegal Suites are the newest addition to Lough Eske Castle Hotel. Adding a further option for guests when choosing to stay with us, they are perfect for multi-generational stays and those seeking a little more space.
Luxuriously appointed, each fully air-conditioned Donegal Suite offers 731 sg ft (68 sq m) of space, with discrete room dividers that allow guests to choose from an open plan layout or a suite featuring separate living and bedroom spaces. Located in a newly constructed adjoining wing, the Donegal Suites remain true to Lough Eske Castle’s vision of showcasing and celebrating the very best of Donegal and Ireland, and in doing so, retaining the unique sense of place that our guests adore.
The design and colour palette of the suites have been inspired by the stunning landscapes in which Lough Eske Castle is steeped, with suites each featuring a bespoke Magee 1866 tweed, the result of a collaboration with the family run businesses. All of Magee fabrics are designed, woven and finished by its team locally.
The warm and distinctive burnt orange colourway is showcased in a striking feature wallscape, which adds a distinct and unique burst of colour and sense of luxury. The Donegal Suites showcase produce and artworks sourced locally from Sliabh Liag Distillers, McNutt of Donegal, McGonigle Glass Studio, Kevin Callaghan Pottery, Kinnegar Brewing, the ‘Donegal Chocolate Man’, artists including Patrick Murphy and David Mitchell, and photography by Owen O’Reilly.
A king-size four-poster bed with crisp white linen provides a pleasing contrast against the Magee tweed wallscape, at the foot of which is a traditional bed seat. The living room and bedroom feature bespoke oak furniture, including marble topped bedside cabinet, console, breakfast table and two chairs, dressing table, easy chairs and traditional button-back sofa, inviting you to relax in front of the fireplace, or be entertained by watching a film on the 50” flat screen smart TV located directly above.
The suites are each decorated in soft pale earth tones, providing the perfect backdrop for the warmth and brightness of the tweed, yellow throw, blue chairs and vibrant orange sofa. Ambient lighting from wall, floor and table lamps allows guests to create the atmosphere they wish, while modern luxury bathrooms feature marble tiling, free standing contemporary roll-top bath tub, separate rainforest shower, twin wash basins and vanity, and shaving mirror. Thick white bath robes and guest slippers are provided for use, perfect for settling back to relax. Wi-Fi access is standard as well as one or two 50-inch flat screen smart TVs and refreshment station, including minibar.
